I love listening to audio books. For the last five years I have spent on average more than $50 per month on tapes, CDs or MP3s. I am a serious audio listener and I refuse to anything but unabridged books. Recently, I discovered online downloads became more common so I broke down and purchased a RCA Thomas Opal. A little investigation on internet and discovered Audible.com seemed to have more books available than any other source. Audible.com claimed 35,000 titles, with 30-50 new titles added each week. I took joined as an Audible Gold Member. This gave me the following benefits for just $14.95 per month:
- Receive 1 audio credits each month. (An Audio credit is usually one book.)
- Save 30% on all audiobooks and programs not purchased with audio credits.
- Get a complimentary subscription to the digital audio version of The New York Times or The Wall Street Journal.
After a couple of months, I decided to upgrade to an Audible Platinum Membership. The cost is just seven more dollars per month but I get one additional audio credit. So far, I have purchased one hundred twenty hours of great stories. I expect many more hours of great listening.
